Regulations of the 8th Children’s Film and Television Festival 

«KINOSVET», 2024

Festival objectives:

  • Development of cinematography;
  • Moral upbringing of children and adolescents;
  • Forming of young people’s personality through cinema;
  • Introducing the younger generation to spiritual culture;
  • Increasing the interest in youth film production globally.

Festival tasks:

  • Enriching the world with kind films that portray humane ideas and moral values to make it brighter;
  • Reviving children’s, youth, and family cinema;
  • Drawing global attention to social issues related to children, those in need, and nature;
  • Promoting true, universal spiritual values;
  • Educating a new generation of filmmakers;
  • Expanding and strengthening ties among filmmakers from different countries working for children and youth;
  • Drawing the attention of governmental, public, and commercial organisations to the support of children’s and family filmmaking, as well as encouraging young filmmakers. 

The festival includes various programmes:

«KinoLeader« is for filmmakers aged 10 to 18 who are involved in cinema/TV studios, film schools, creative associations, or independently produce their own works with a camera, or phone.

“KinoProfi» is for the participants over 18. The festival selection committee accepts professional films for children and adolescents produced by cinema/TV studios, film schools, creative associations, and also independent works by individual authors.

To apply for “Hallowed Be Thy Name» programme, authors have to be at least 18 years old. The festival committee considers professional films for audience of any age addressing the topics of relations with God and of living life according to universal spiritual laws. Films about saints in various spiritual traditions, miracles, where authors share experiences of encountering the Divine through the beautiful language of cinema, are also accepted.

Applications:

Submitting a film for participation in the festival is subject to a fee of 7 euros, or 700 Russian rubles, or 25 Belarusian rubles for each work.

To apply for the festival, you need to:

  1. Fill out the Google form.
  2. After completing the Google form, payment details will be sent to your email.
  3. To ensure that your payment is received, please send us the receipt after making the payment via email.

If your work meets the requirements, it will be accepted for participation. A participant diploma will be sent to you by post after the end of the festival.

All films participating in the festival must be submitted no later than June 19, 2024.

One participant can submit any number of works.
Films that were submitted in previous years cannot participate in this festival.
The festival organisers reserve the right to use excerpts from films for the promotion of the festival.

Technical requirements:

The festival’s selection committee gives priority to films addressing friendship, loyalty, unity, honor, love, compassion, mercy, respect, diligence, responsibility, patience, sincerity, and other moral values.

Films should not contain:
— Scenes and plots that offend the feelings of believers (of various denominations and religions);
— Plots and frames advertising or promoting drugs, alcohol, smoking, and other bad habits;
— Scenes of cruelty and violence;
— Profanity and indecent expressions.

The film duration is not limited.

The festival organizers are not responsible for errors and inaccuracies in the submitted applications.

Edited fragments or excerpts from several programmes are not accepted.

The festival organizers are not responsible for participants’ infringement of third-party copyright.

If the winner cannot attend the festival, a copy of the diploma will be sent to them via email, and participants from outside the competition may be invited in their place, at the discretion of the organizing committee.

Festival stages:

The festival consists of three stages.

Stage I (organisational) takes place from March 19 to July 15, 2024, during which the organising committee accepts applications.

Stage II (selection) takes place from July 16 to August 15, 2024, during which the selection committee reviews films and selects festival nominees.

Stage III (competitive) — autumn 2024 (exact date to be specified) — screenings of nominated films, educational workshops, awarding of festival winners.

«CinePro» programme (directors over 18):

  • Feature film for children
  • Documentary film for children
  • Animated film for children
  • TV program for children

    The best works from around the world will be selected in each nomination.

«Hallowed Be Thy Name» programme (directors over 18):

  • Feature film
  • Documentary film
  • Animated film
  • TV program
  • Social video

Festival Rules:

«KINOSVET» Festival is a spiritual and moral event aimed at supporting moral values, promoting goodness worldwide and healthy lifestyle through personal example. Therefore, there are certain rules at our festival.

The following is prohibited on the festival grounds:

1. Consumption of any alcoholic, tobacco, or narcotic products.
2. Any aggressive and disrespectful behavior.
3. Profanity.
4. Any disrespectful treatment of food.

If any of these rules is violated by a participant during the festival, the organizing committee will be forced to ask the participant to leave the festival.
